All estimates use assets/js/formulas.js. Names like #57 are size grades (ASTM D448 / AASHTO M43), not a guaranteed weight. Density is a planning number. Confirm with the supplier.
Volume
Rectangle (shed pad, walkway): pad length and width include overhang on both sides. Volume (ft³) = L × W × (depth in inches ÷ 12). Cubic yards = ft³ ÷ 27.
Fire-pit ring: π × (Rout² − Rin²) × depth.
Mass
Densities are stored as US short tons (2,000 lb) per loose cubic yard. Loose short tons = yd³ × density. Order = loose × (1 + compaction/waste). UK/EU display converts short tons to metric tonnes (× 0.907).
- Crusher run / road base: 1.50 t/yd³, +15%
- #57 crushed stone: 1.40 t/yd³, +10%
- Pea gravel: 1.30 t/yd³, +10%
- Lava rock: 0.70 t/yd³, +5%
Bags assume 0.5 ft³ each. Bags are highlighted under 0.5 short ton; otherwise the bulk order rounds up to the next 0.5 short ton.
